SANDY LANE'S GOLF STAFF PLAY IN CARIBBEAN AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP
Sandy Lane recently had an extra reason to congratulate members of the golf team when five members made it onto the Barbados team for the 2007 Caribbean championships. Sandy Lane caddies Ricky Skeete, Robert Piggott, Carlsen Leacock and Orville Alleyne as well as Michael Prescod from the Golf Operations team, all did Barbados and by extension Sandy Lane proud during the tournament.
Most notably, Skeete a former Barbados wicketkeeper/batsman and Piggott, a once dominant local golfer, won the senior’s team title at the 2006 Caribbean Amateur Golf Championships in Jamaica. This year in the Dominican Republic, Piggott and Leacock retained the Caribbean Senior’s golf title by beating the Puerto Rican duo by four shots.
