Front of House Manager

The Role
The Front of House Manager will report to the Hotel Manager and manage the day-to-day operations of Front Office.

Key duties and responsibilities:

  • Leads, motivates and directs all Front of House champions in the execution of their duties to maximize operational efficiency.
  • Effectively monitor and review all department standards, as detailed in each departmental Game Plans to maximize efficiency. 
  • Ensures that an effective structure of communication is maintained at all times to the team, so are fully informed of all relevant information pertaining to their role and the hotel in general.
  • Ensures that all guest comments, including complaints are dealt with in an effective and timely manner in order to facilitate good guest relations and optimize guest satisfaction.
  • Supports the front desk during busy check-ins and checkouts times, ensuring personalized and
    professional service delivery to our guests at all times.
  • Attends the Morning Daily Operational Review meeting and ensure that accurate information is communicated to rest of the team relative to any special guest requirements.

Our ideal candidate must possess:

  • A University Degree in Hotel or Tourism Management or Business Management
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a managerial position, preferably in a hotel environment
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal, organizational and time management skills along with the ability to prioritize and to multitask.
  • An outgoing personality that is warm and friendly along with excellent communication skills with both internal and external guests. 
  • Ability to anticipate guest needs; be flexible in changing goals and direction quickly and remain calm, objective and courteous under pressure and in stressful situations. 
  • Effective decision-making skills and the ability to multitask. 

This position requires the candidate to be in good physical condition to perform extensive walking, bending and stretching.

Marketing & Public Relations Manager

The Role

The Marketing & Public Relations Manager reports to the General Manager and Resident Manager, and is responsible for facilitating campaigns or branding required through press releases, media outlets, social media, and digital/email marketing.

Key duties and responsibilities:

  • Identify the latest trends and technologies that increase the visibility of the resort, its product, people and its strengths in the market place.
  • Oversee all aspects of digital and email marketing campaigns.
  • Ability to be digitally creative, particularly with social media content creation.
  • Liaises directly with our Digital Marketing Agency in the USA, on all things marketing related, with emphasis on our digital marketing spend, social media campaigns, and SL website.
  • Also liaises with graphic artists, when Sandy Lane needs to create professional design content.
  • Coordinates and distributes external newsletters and ensures information on the website is updated.
  • Tracks and maintains any local and international media coverage whether print, television, radio or other and maintains and updates all social media channels on a daily basis to ensure timely, relevant messages are posted.
  • Conducts and/or coordinates photo/video shoots at the hotel; manages the image library as well as provides access to the media as required.
  • Effectively manages Public Relations for events and co-sponsored initiatives, such as The Sandy Lane Gold Cup.
  • Prepares monthly Public Relations and Website Reports including reports generated by our Customer Relationship Management Company.

Our ideal candidate must possess:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in communication, marketing, digital marketing, or public relations along with aminimum of 5 years marketing experience in a luxury hotel/resort or travel related environment.
  • Ability to work with many competing deadlines and to prioritize between numerous high-profile projects and responsibilities.
  • Remarkable interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communications skills as well as strong editing skills for all forms of media.
  • Ability to identify and explore public relation opportunities, which are both strategic and cost effective.
  • Proven ability to prepare comprehensive media materials, make quick and sound decisions and to organize thoughts in the face of time constraints.
  • Strong relationship management and coordinating skills along with the ability to use a wide range of information and communication technology systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of various social media platforms, best practices and highly creative with excellent google analytical abilities.
